Description Adam Howarth 2008-06-10 04:32:30 UTC
This bug seems to be sufficiently different to 345039 to warrant a separate report.

This occurs on a fresh install of OpenSuse 11RC2Plus AMD64 KDE livecd. My partition (all primary) setup was:

/dev/sdd1 /boot 100mb ext3 + format
/dev/sdd2 swap 2.5gb swap + crypt (no crypt key)
/dev/sdd3 / 15gb ext3 + format
/dev/sdd4 /home 94.1GB ext3 + format + crypt (user supplied crypt key)

After the liveCD install routine, the machine posted and started running the kernel inits. The following message interrupted the boot process:

"Could not find /dev/sdd3
Want me to fall back Y/n?"

I then selected yes, and eventually received the message "not found" and the sys was exiting to /bin/sh.

I then reinstalled using the same LiveCD, using the same partition setup, all the same except for no encryption and the whole install process worked.

the live cd won't support that feature
