Description macias - 2008-06-11 13:46:10 UTC
Select "patterns" mode, click on KDE4 base for example pattern, choose "update if newer packages are available" (all in this list).

Effect? None.

Do the same but in the package list pane. Some packages are now set for update.

If you are unsure follow:

Thanks

I don't see at all how yast log would tell you there is a flaw at the UI level, but sure, I'll try (try = because I am running RC1 in vbox).

that "update all" shouldn't be there at all I guess
Comment 5 Stefan Hundhammer 2008-06-17 09:54:14 UTC
Where did you select that option? From the pull-down menu in the menu bar, or from one of the context menus? If so, from which one? From the patterns list, or from the packages list?

Rest assured, we DO know what to do with our logs.

From context menu. From the pattern list pane (there is no KDE4 base pattern in the package list).

Comment 8 Stefan Hundhammer 2008-06-17 11:04:44 UTC
Well, of course a context menu refers to the object it belongs to. If you use the context menu of the patterns list, that action would affect patterns. And since there are no patterns to update, nothing happens - as expected.
