Description Mathieu Cadet 2008-06-21 12:43:54 UTC
I'm experiencing very slow connection speeds with my wireless card (chipset is Ralink 2500 PCI).
I'm using openSUSE 11.0's stock kernel 2.6.25.5-1.1-pae on a x86 system.
iwconfig reports a speed of 1 Mb/s:

# iwconfig wlan0
wlan0 IEEE 802.11g ESSID:"mySSID"
          Mode:Managed Frequency:2.427 GHz Access Point: 00:18:39:20:C9:C0
          Bit Rate=1 Mb/s Tx-Power=27 dBm
          Retry min limit:7 RTS thr:off Fragment thr=2352 B
          Link Quality=49/100 Signal level=-64 dBm
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
          Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0

It seems that the connection speed is incorrectly detected.
If I set the correct speed manually I get the expected speed:

# iwconfig wlan0 rate 11M
