the X server tries to start up - but can't
In the end, i need to reboot the machine to get a desktop again.
The X server also crashed similarly while playing a video with XV and running googleearth at the same time.
00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation Mobile PM965/GM965/GL960 Memory Controller Hub (rev 0c)
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 0c)
00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 0c)
See also Bug #403071. And Bug #400788. I can reproduce the Mplayer issue (with "-vo gl" and "-vo gl2"). googlearth crashes the Xserver immediately. It's the same issue as in Bug #400788. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 400788 *** |
Created attachment 223835 [details] the original crash One way to reliably crash the X server is to play a video, using "mplayer -vo gl2", then press "f" for fullscreen. Will attach xorg logs.
