the original crash

One way to reliably crash the X server is to play a video, using "mplayer -vo gl2", then press "f" for fullscreen.

Will attach xorg logs.

In the end, i need to reboot the machine to get a desktop again.

The X server also crashed similarly while playing a video with XV and running googleearth at the same time.

I can reproduce the Mplayer issue (with "-vo gl" and "-vo gl2"). googlearth crashes the Xserver immediately. It's the same issue as in Bug #400788.
