I installed opensuse 11 final a couple of days ago and all worked well. I just went to install the latest release of wine, on opening YaST2 - Software Management it loaded fine but showed an old rc1 release in the main oss repo, so I quit and loaded the Software Repositories module and added the wine repo found at:

http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Emulators:/Wine/openSUSE_11.0/

as an additional HTTP repo. I recieved no errors at this point and loaded Software Management again, this time selecting the current Wine 1.0 found in the new repo. Upon clicking accept YaST appeared to hang for a short while before I recieved the error:

Error

Download failed:
 Download (curl) error for 'http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.0/repo/oss/content".
Error code: User abort
Error message: connect() timed out!

I double checked the server was available with my browser, and indeed it is, responding well. I then tried retrying which failed again, same error. Next up I quit Software Management and reloaded, I now get the above error when trying to update the repositories, if I select skip I eventually get back to the loaded module and am able to search and browser for software, but installation still fails.

After this I tried removing the new wine repo and rebooting, now I still get the error when loading YaST Software Management even without the new repo, I attempted to install flex so I could compile Wine myself from source, but curl errors whilst trying to download flex.

As an aside, zypper also fails on the command line, giving timeouts as the reason, everything else appears to be working (i'm reporting this bug using the same machine) and I have no other network traffic going on which could choke my connection. I have attached the y2logs as per the instructions, I am relatively familiar with the commandline so if you would like me to try anything please just ask.

Regards

Phill Upson

Well, it appears after changing nothing else, and not even rebooting, yast and zypper are working fine again after 1 complaint about the nvidia repo's gpg key being invalid, which i ok'd. I'll put this back under my name and keep it for a week before closing if nothing else occurs. Thanks.

I assume this one is fixed and you just forgot to close it. :-)
