Description Bart Otten 2008-07-03 10:53:35 UTC
Goodday all,

openSUSE 11.0 is a huge succes and a lot of my Windows-friends are giving it a try. I heard a lot of complains about the update-config where a list of (community) repositories are shown. For people that know the system of repositories it is 'crystal clear' but net users don't understand it. They are confronted with a list that does not explain anything about the repositories.

X11:XGL << What's that? Should I use it?

It would be better if there was some information about the repo's and which one are usefull for 'normal' users. Just like we give information about RPM-packages in Software Install. It doesn't have to be technical correct as long as it it usefull for Joe Average.

X11:XGL - Experimental version of the graphicsystem of openSUSE

Regards,
Bart

Lado, in case there _IS_ description, you can show it to user in repository configuration module, right?

If I understant it correctly the problem is in repository config during system update. Lukas?

No, not really. It's about the names and descriptions for Community Repositories - items in the list. Defined by Coolo so far...

there is a description below, so I don't see the bug as valid.
