Description Michael Monreal 2008-07-09 15:23:41 UTC
oS11 detects my build-in bluetooth just fine and shows a bluetooth icon in the tray. However I am not able to send files to the oS11 box or browse the share after I enable those options (File transfer options in the "General" tab). I see a "obex-data-server" process but if I send a file my other PC tells me that the oS11 box does not support receiving files :(

As a workaround I found that starting the gnome-obex-server app works. But IIRC this app (as well as the whole gnome-bluetooth package) is deprecated now. RedHat did some great work to make Bluetooth work great on Fedora9. They ship a slightly patched bluez-gnome package (worth checking patches?) as well as gnome-user-share, which would be nice to have in openSUSE as well to have a central point to control user shares.

Update: looks like the ability to share files has been removed from bluez-gnome upstream during 1.x somewhere.

I am experimenting with a solution for this in my obs home.
