Description Bidossessi SODONON 2008-07-29 22:49:48 UTC
Kinternet should not be hardcoded as a dependency for yast pppoe configuration

PPPOE fonctionality is now supposed to be part of the kernel
NetworkManager includes a "dsl" tab for all required (A)DSL configurations
Not everybody installs KDE
NetworkManager is a constant accross all major Window Managers in openSUSE
Needing to download a basically not-necessary app to configure internet connection sometimes leads to a catch 22 (need kinternet to get on the net and need the net to get kinternet) which is sad since there are perfectly viable alternatives;

Yast should rely on NetworkManager for all connectivity issues, when user control is expected.

This is not possible to be implemented because NetworkManager and YaST don't uses same configuration files (with YaST you can't setup configuration for NetworkManager anymore)
