I guess only optional updates are available. Only recommended patches and security patches have a yellow or red icon. We don't want to encourage users to install optional updates. That is the reason why the green icon is shown. Don't want to be picky here but why not add another icon for "optional upgrades"? Maybe something green and triangular? Just changing the color of an existing icon isn't a good idea because color-blind people might have problems with such an icon. If you can provide a nice icon, I can perhaps add it to the updater applet. Created attachment 231587 [details]

I'm not an artist myself but how about one of these two (attached)? They are part of the openSUSE/oxygen theme. Should be alright to use them here. - These icons are used for the online update. This might confuse some users. - The online update icon is in the taskbar (=22x22 pixels) nearly unrecognizable. I'll try to find an icon that fits. |
