Description Per Jessen 2008-08-08 14:55:55 UTC
Situation: installation over ssh+nfs on a single processor Proliant DL320 with dual-PATA drives assembled as RAID1 for swap and root.

I did a completely standard installation, didn't touch any of the options except for setting up to install on JFS on my RAID1. Stage1 went fine, but the machine ended up in a weird state - it still has LILO installed from the previous system. The system boots up, but the root filesystem is read-only and obviously stage 2 never starts. I'll repeat the exercise and get hold of the yast log.

These are the yast logs right up until the end of stage 1.

FYI, I've just now tried the same, but with ext3 - with pretty much the same results: my old lilo is still installed, the system boots up but cannot mount the root filesystem, as it doesn't have fsck.ext3. (presumably because it is still reading from my old /boot).

Yes, it is already fixed problem in alpha1, where instead of rewrite mbr is rewrite first partition. If problem still occur please reopen.
Thanks for report.
