Description Uwe Bonnes 2008-10-10 09:00:11 UTC
I have a lot of different installation sources, most hosted on download.opensuse.org. Today (10. oct 2008) software.opensuse.org was not reachable.
When I started an Yast2 Online Update, for each source on software.opensuse.org, an error message box popped up:
=> Fehler
=> Herunterladen fehlgeschlagen
=> Fehler beim Herunterladen (curl) fuer 'http://download.opensuse.org/...
=> Fehlerkode: User abort
=> Fehlernachricht: connect() timed out!
=> OK

Clicking "OK"
the next box pops up:
=> ! Kein Zugriff auf Installationsmedium
=> ! (Medium 1)
=> ! Pruefen Sie, ob auf den Server zugegriffen werden kann
=> Details anzeigen
=> _W_iederholen _A_bbrechen U_b_erspringen

The reaction on both "_A_bbrechen" "U_b_erspringen" was the same:
The next source was tried, resulting in a similar error after waiting for the next timeout.
I strongly suggest to give the user a possibility to abort the whole update process. This is what I expected with the option "_A_bbrechen".

Another problem is the "Abbrechen" box in the "Online Aktualisierunen werden initialisiert" Window. While the online update waits for the server, a Sandwatch is displayed, and the "Abbrechen" box is not clickable.

B.t.w: Why can't I cut and paste the error messages from above bocxes with the normal X mouse mechanismes?

In 11.1 there is "Skip Autorefresh" button instead of "Abort", see bug #427017.
