Package DirectFB is installed but zypper/Yast cannot find the proper version of libdirectfb for Mplayer or kmplayer or other packages needing libdirectfb-1.1.so.0

Bugs with Packman packages against openSUSE?

Yes, if you mansaged to read the whole first comment, you would see the problem also applies to any package like the kde packages that also require it. As openSuSE is pushing kde4, it should be interested in failures to find a package that is loaded. In fact, it can't seem to find any packages because it reloads them all even though you just upgraded them, not just this one.

You filed this bug against openSUSE 11.1 / Factory.
Indeed there is _one_ package in http://download.opensuse.org/factory/repo/oss/ that requires DirectFB: splashy.
The version of libdirectfb provided is libdirectfb-1.2.so.0.3.0 linked to libdirectfb-1.2.so.0.
So, no package from the official Factory repo needs libdirectfb-1.1.so.0.
Please clean up your repos and feel free to reopen this bug if you're able to name any package that requires libdirectfb-1.1.so.0.

And again: there's no need for the openSUSE developers to support *.pm.* packages.
