Within the configuration there should be no combobox (shown) to select the backend if there exists only one backend (or has 'upstream' some other?).

There are two backend plugins. If you install 'kde4-kupdateapplet-packagekit' and 'kde4-kupdateapplet-zypp' both backend plugins are shown in the combobox.

I think it's over-engineering if the applet would hide the combobox when only one backend plugin is installed. Please reopen this bug if you disagree.
