Can confirm crashing Kopete in OpenSUSE 11.1 with the latest KDE4 Factory packages as on x86 as x86_64. I reported this to kde.org, they recently fixed something similar: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=172011 .
For OpenSUSE, the crash still appears, it could be probably worth to merge in some new fixes from the KDE 4.1 upstream.
