Description Forgotten User zSppWjup9E 2008-11-07 17:51:38 UTC
The openSUSE icons on the desktop (Network, My Computer, Online Help...) are left untranslated in folderview while in KDE3 or Gnome Desktop it appears translated.

Locale tested: wa

The line Name[wa]=... is well present in the .desktop file.

Tested with fr as well. Same problem.
Comment 2 Forgotten User zSppWjup9E 2008-11-15 15:53:37 UTC
Still present in beta5
Comment 3 Stephan Binner 2008-11-17 13:56:08 UTC
Why are now no translations in the .desktop files anymore?

Compare eg Support.desktop from kdebase3-SUSE on openSUSE 11.0 versus kdebase3-SUSE from openSUSE 11.1.

Or the upstream translated kdm.desktop which ends stripped from all translations in kde4-kdm: https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=250859&action=edit

I noticed that as well. The translations were present in the file, as I can remember, in beta 4.

I found this bug in 10.3 with KDE4.1.x from factory as well. It isn't nieuw from beta5.

That's because of fate 301344 (so we can easily update translations of desktop files). And this should be working because of the work in fate 300461.

Still the same in RC1...
Comment 10 Lubos Lunak 2009-06-08 15:51:59 UTC
This works with 4.3, broken with 4.1.3 from 11.1.
Comment 11 Lubos Lunak 2009-09-11 15:30:01 UTC
Still broken for 11.2 in some places.

Fixed, but kdelibs4/desktop-translations.diff should be somewhen rewritten to patch directly KConfig, otherwise this may repeat with code that doesn't use KDesktopFile.
