Description Forgotten User m1ELUxQFxN 2008-11-09 16:24:40 UTC
Yast2 -> Network devices only shows the wired interface in the notebook, not the wireless, which makes the setup of the device cumbersome ;-)

The Kernel seems to see the device, as this excerpt from boot.msg shows:

<6>iwlagn: Copyright(c) 2003-2008 Intel Corporation

please attach output from "hwinfo --netcard"

Created attachment 250916 [details]
Output of hwinfo --netcard

Attached text file contains the requested output from hwinfo --netcard ,
which also shows the Intel wireless card.
Comment 3 Forgotten User m1ELUxQFxN 2008-11-09 17:27:29 UTC
Found some more information. The behaviour reported occurs when the "Traditional setup with ifup" method is seclected. When switching to "User controlled with NetworkManager" the card is recognized in NetworkManager (still not in Yast) and can be configured there. Guess I have to learn to love NetworkManager...
Comment 4 Forgotten User m1ELUxQFxN 2008-11-09 17:28:43 UTC
Sorry, still learning the Bugzilla Thing, empty comment to remove "NEEDINFO", should be provided in the two previous messages.
Comment 5 Michal Zugec 2008-11-09 23:16:02 UTC
No, from hwinfo we can see that card is not recognized as wireless
