pidgin-otr worked fine in beta4, but in beta5 I see this message each time I try to start a private session: 

  Error setting up private conversation: Selftest failed

Can you run it in a terminal and look at the output? Most probably a duplicate of bug 443693.

I upgraded libgcrypt from bug 443693, and OTR now works.
