Description Martin Brunner 2008-11-27 21:28:39 UTC
Hello together,

after testing UBUNTU successful on my Acer 4051 LMi Notebook (Pentium M715 with 1.5 GHz, RAM stocked up to 1GB), I decided to uses OpenSUSE 11.0 (everything is in German and more software). So I installed from DVD...

The installation is successful (I think). After the first normal boot the loading bar stops in height of the "U" of OpenSUSE. After that the System starts normally a reboot, in some times the system is hanging up.

I use the Bootloader GRUB, so I can use Windows XP parallel.
I tested the installation with KDE 3.5 and GNOME - always the same problem.
And if I am starting the GRUB menu point "Failsaife" I'll get the same symptoms.

Chosen language for installation is german.

By using the GRUB menu pint "Failsaife - openSUSE 11.0 - 2.6.25.5 - 1.1" and when the system is hanging up the following boot I can note down:
(....)
Starting D-Bus daemon - done
Starting ressouce manager - done
Starting syslog services - done
acpid: no ACPI support in kernel - skipped
Starting Console kit
Loading CPU Freq modules
Starting HAL daemon
Starting java.bin fmt - misc (last entry)

Best regards,
Martin Brunner
