Different machine, different partitioning, similar problem. Brand new Dell laptop with Vista Business. Installed 11.1 Beta 3 (or 4, not sure) did work (well, at least Partitioning and Grub installation worked). Now I receive pretty much the same error message (just different number for (hd0,3) instead of (hd0,1), etc.) HERE IS WHAT IS NEW: Tried the repair system of the 11.1RC1 Disc: 1) It claims to have successfully repaired the Bootloader. 2) Then immediately reports that the booloader is defect. 3) Same dialogue as before, claiming to have successfully repaired the bootloader. 4) Finishes. 5) Reboot shows that there is no bootloader whatsoever. :( PS: Ooops, I forgot to mention that I use the _64bit_ version! The error message upon reboot is from the bios. It looks like duplicate of bug #450091 . (In reply to comment #3 from Rajko Matovic) > It looks like duplicate of bug #450091 . > yes ;) *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 450091 *** |
