Sending files via Bluetooth
It seems that the new btusb driver which is used with 11.1 is not backward compatible with your dongle. Please try to install and use the deprecated hci_usb package. If it works for you, then we know where the problem is. I have the same problem with: - ASUSTek Computer, Inc. BT-183 Bluetooth 2.0+EDR adapter (0b05:1712) - Micro Star International Bluetooth Dongle (0db0:1967) Hci_usb is not a solution to the problem. (In reply to comment #7 from Radek Bucek) > I have the same problem with: > - ASUSTek Computer, Inc. BT-183 Bluetooth 2.0+EDR adapter (0b05:1712) > - Micro Star International Bluetooth Dongle (0db0:1967) Did pre-11.1 work with those? > Hci_usb is not a solution to the problem. If it worked up to 11.0, it looks like what changed is actually the new driver. Did you make sure that only hci_usb was loaded when you tried it? I am using only OpenSuse 11.1 RC1, but it worked in FC9 and FC10 (without nautilus-sendto). jxlnb:~ # lsmod | grep hci sdhci_pci 9176 0 ohci1394 31380 0 sdhci 20716 1 sdhci_pci mmc_core 65216 1 sdhci hci_usb 13232 3 ieee1394 98880 1 ohci1394 bluetooth 63652 11 sco,rfcomm,bnep,l2cap,hci_usb ohci_hcd 36548 0 ehci_hcd 55044 0 usbcore 198656 6 uvcvideo,hci_usb,usbhid,ohci_hcd,ehci_hcd ahci 34628 4 libata 183328 3 ata_generic,pata_atiixp,ahci jxlnb:~ # lsmod | grep usb hci_usb 13232 3 bluetooth 63652 11 sco,rfcomm,bnep,l2cap,hci_usb usbhid 52896 0 hid 41568 1 usbhid ff_memless 8912 1 usbhid usbcore 198656 6 uvcvideo,hci_usb,usbhid,ohci_hcd,ehci_hcd I will check tomorrow what is the difference between btusb and hci_usb regarding this dongle. (In reply to comment #10 from Vladimir Botka) > I will check tomorrow what is the difference between btusb and hci_usb > regarding this dongle. > The same situation on my desktop. Today I install package hci_usb-0.1-2.39.i586 Modul hci_usb was successfully loaded but my usb bluetooth still doesn't work :( The same problem here. btusb does not work for my device. Installed hci_usb and blacklisted btusb on my system (it was loading even with the hci_usb installed). Still the bluetooth dongle is not detected by the KBluetooth. Attached the lsusb and lsmod output. Created attachment 262511 [details]

Does loading the btusb module with the parameter "reset=1" help? (In reply to comment #15) > Does loading the btusb module with the parameter "reset=1" help? Even loading the module with the parameter reset=1 Microstar bluetooth does not work. I tried to change the kernel but with the latest stable version of the Linux kernel 2.6.28 bluetooth does not work too. I have the same problem with the Belkin F8T009 Bluetooth USB Adapter. It worked fine under previous openSUSE versions. lsusb output: 0a5c:200a Broadcom Corp. Bluetooth dongle I have tried it with utusb, utusb reset=1 and hci_usb. I always get the following in /var/log/messages: kernel: usbcore: registered new interface driver btusb bluetoothd[32065]: HCI dev 0 registered bluetoothd[32065]: HCI dev 0 up bluetoothd[32065]: Can't write class of device: Connection timed out (110) bluetoothd[32065]: Registered interface org.bluez.NetworkPeer on path /org/bluez/32065/hci0 kernel: hci_cmd_task: hci0 command tx timeout bluetoothd[32065]: Can't write class of device: Connection timed out (110) bluetoothd[32065]: Registered interface org.bluez.NetworkHub on path /org/bluez/32065/hci0 kernel: hci_cmd_task: hci0 command tx timeout bluetoothd[32065]: Can't write class of device: Connection timed out (110) bluetoothd[32065]: Registered interface org.bluez.NetworkRouter on path /org/bluez/32065/hci0 bluetoothd[32065]: Registered interface org.bluez.SerialProxyManager on path /org/bluez/32065/hci0 bluetoothd[32065]: Failed to listen on control channel bluetoothd[32065]: Registered interface org.bluez.Service on path /org/bluez/32065/hci0 kernel: hci_cmd_task: hci0 command tx timeout bluetoothd[32065]: Can't write class of device: Connection timed out (110) kernel: hci_cmd_task: hci0 command tx timeout bluetoothd[32065]: Can't write class of device: Connection timed out (110) kernel: hci_cmd_task: hci0 command tx timeout bluetoothd[32065]: Can't write class of device: Connection timed out (110) bluetoothd[32065]: Adapter /org/bluez/32065/hci0 has been enabled bluetoothd[32065]: Starting security manager 0 kernel: hci_cmd_task: hci0 command tx timeout It has been reported 3 dongles not working with openSUSE 11.1 . Unfortunately I am not able to fix this issue in the near future. I have updated the Hardware compatibility List [1] and will try to keep it updated as I test new HW. You can report this issue to the upstream mailing list [2]. Other distributions are also affected [3]. I am going to resolve it as WONTFIX.
