Description William GENG 2008-12-04 00:17:12 UTC
I installed openSUSE 11.1 RC1 GNOME version and used an ethernet via DHCP,Network Manager say to me that it fails establishing connection.I reboot and reboot, even modify its settings(in fact i can not edit the default wired network configuration 'auto eth0'),no effect.I added a new wired network configuration in Network Manager, things no change.

I run YaST and swith the network control method form by Network Manager to by traditional ifup, network connection established at once.

The logs show there's no response from DHCP server. Please attach your /var/log/messages log file here too as that's where dhclient logs.
