Description Jon Nelson 2008-12-20 01:51:19 UTC
I saw other, similar bugs but wasn't sure if this is different or not.

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad T61p with the INtel 4965 and a physical "switch" (not a button) for bluetooth and wireless.

If I boot the OS (openSUSE 11.1, of course, but this applies to 11.0 as well) with the switch *off* then I can turn back on the bluetooth but *not* the wireless.
The iwl4965 module is *not* loaded and loading it by hand does not help.

If I boot with the switch *on*, then the wireless works normally.

moreover, amilo pro v3205 has the same bug :
http://forums.opensuse.org/hardware/laptop/402406-fudjitsu-siemens-amilo-v3205-wireless-rf-kill-problems.html

in short : if i turn off wireless, it will not start until reboot or suspend with kill rf switch off (wireless on)

tested on another laptop, also t61, the bug is similar. Strange, that no one wasn`t report it, because it seems to be in each laptop.
In opensuse 11.0 it works fine. May be kernel, driver problems, i do not know.
It also happen in x86 enviroment
