Description Doug Glenn 2008-12-21 01:02:52 UTC
When opening Yast2, selecting Software Management, Selecting Packages, Then "All Packages" the program appears to go into an infinite loop. The screen does not update, the CPU usage loops between 20% CPU usage up to 95%, then drops and repeats. This lasted over 2 hours on my system before I finally killed it.

I tried several scenarios, the first time I had selected a number of packages that were not installed, the second time I selected new packages and updated, then went back into the software manager. Still occurred.

I repeated this process several times and got the same result each time I selected All packages, regardless of the selection state.

The last time I killed it, it produced an error on the screen that reads:
YaST got signal 15 at YCP file PackagesUI.ycp:239
/sbin/yast2: line 437: 26773 Terminated
$ybindir/y2base $module "$@" "$SELECTED_GUI" $Y2_GEOMETRY $Y2UI_ARGS

I expect this is probably because I killed it quickly and it had not yet had time to call the routine that was failing, but I wanted to include it to be sure.

This is with all patches applied as of 20 Dec 08
