Description Joseph Comfort 2008-12-21 17:30:10 UTC
I just installed openSuSE 11.1. I use the YaST2 Software Management to adjust the packages I need, primarily through the 'All Packages' list under Package groups.

The time to load the list has increased enormously -- estimate a couple orders of magnitude -- from previous versions. There is no obvious sign of activity. I can't cancel; switching back and forth between desktops leaves a blank window. The software appears buggy, dead, and hung up -- until it finally completes the task. After setting up xosview, I see that one of a dual cpu is at 100%, but there is little or no disk activity. It looks like a huge programming inefficiency has crept in. Can this be cleared up soon? Thank you.
