GNOME displays autostart for empty CD-R while Brasero tells me it's a non-empty CD.

Can you attach a debug log ? Also after you restart hal does Brasero sees your CD-R ? Can you reproduce with all CD's and DVD's ?

No backtrace.

After restarting HAL with "sudo service haldaemon restart" Brasero sees the CD-R.

PS: I have an CD burner, not DVD ;) .
Comment 4 Jakub Rusinek 2008-12-22 13:25:13 UTC
bug 461600 might be related.
Comment 5 Luis Medinas 2008-12-22 17:15:33 UTC
Ok this is a known bug upstream that is related with HAL not Brasero. I'll attach the bug to get going.

Comment 7 Luis Medinas 2009-01-08 20:03:25 UTC
Add HAL maintainer that this seems to affect both ncb and brasero that depends on HAL to do these tasks.

I can confirm this also.

Comment 9 Luis Medinas 2009-01-21 16:04:36 UTC
Does the new HAL available on 11.1-test fixes the problem ?
Comment 10 Andres Cimmarusti 2009-01-31 05:49:29 UTC
I confirm this problem. More over, Brasero won't detect my dvd+rw. While Gnome CD/DVD burner does.
Comment 11 Luis Medinas 2009-03-02 04:57:34 UTC
The Last few brasero releases had lot's of fixes for problems like this. If you want you can grab them from my buildservice home or from GNOME:Factory
Comment 12 Danny Al-Gaaf 2011-11-04 16:00:54 UTC
11.1 is no longer supported, close as WONTFIX
