I have noticed that this problem is recurring and also in kde across multiple programs that need rw access to dvd/cd drives. Eg totem wont recognize a dvd - gives permission problems. Other also exist - linked to permissions. Some have said to add user to disk group - this is dangerous.
My experience - if you start with an empty drive - the system gives NO permissions to the desktop user. If you start with a dvd in the drive at login, then that user has rw permission to the drive.
This can be checked with
getfacl /dev/sr0
There appears to be a problem with HAL!
Cheers
John
Hi John, I guess you're right and I am quite sure that your bug is a duplicate of #408252. Therefore you'd try to read the thread there and watch what is happening. Dieter Jurzitza *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 408252 *** |
