Could you attach /var/log/Xorg.0.log{,old] with the crash? BTW, the config files are for a nvidia card.
Comment 6 Forgotten User bSWU20Bh6O 2009-01-19 03:26:42 UTC
The xorg.conf I previously attached has device[0] and device[1] this laptop has two modes stamina and speed. stamina uses device[0] which is the intel card that is crashing with the version of xorg included in 11.1.

See:
Section "Screen"
  DefaultDepth 24
  Device "Device[0]"
  Identifier "Screen[0]"
  Monitor "Monitor[0]"
EndSection

Section "Device"
  BoardName "945 GM"
  BusID "0:2:0"
  Driver "intel"
  Identifier "Device[0]"
  Option "monitor-LVDS" "Monitor[0]"
  VendorName "Intel"
EndSection

I will attach another xorg log since it crashed again while I was writing this report the first time.

Comment 9 Stefan Dirsch 2009-01-19 03:52:57 UTC
You're using

(**) intel(0): Option "AccelMethod" "xaa"
(**) intel(0): Option "ForceEnablePipeA" "true"

XAA is no longer supported and the cause for various Xserver crashes. Also I'm not
sure if it's useful to set the "ForceEnablePipeA" option. Obviously it doesn't
help to avoid the crash. Please try without these options. Yes I know that performance with EXA sucks. But that issue is handled seperately upstream on bugs.freedeskto.org.

I have tried without those two options, I will try to run without them for a bit and post the crash here. Just to note, there is also a flickering/shifting thing that happens as well. This laptop was working fine with 11.0.

Any news on this one?
Comment 12 Forgotten User bSWU20Bh6O 2009-01-23 01:11:57 UTC
Yes, here's the latest log. Funny thing; as I was reading your latest comment it happened again.

Comment 14 Stefan Dirsch 2009-01-23 07:50:13 UTC
Looks like this issue is already been addressed upstream:

  http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18651

Hopefully Intel can fix it soon, so we can provide an update for openSUSE 11.1.
