So, please give the detailed information as much as possible (but concisely at the same time).
For example, which desktop system, which sound subsystem, which apps tested, which I/O jack tested, how is the mixer setup, whether it's an update or a fresh installation, etc. These are necessary information to debug, but not provided so far.

Also, run /usr/sbin/alsa-info.sh with --no-upload option, and upload the result to the bugzilla. This will contain the detailed hardware information.

Thanks.

YaST2 -> Hardware -> Sound -> Other -> Volume always is crashing:

YaST got signal 11 at YCP file Wizard.ycp:743
/sbin/yast2: line 437:  4437 Segmentation fault      $ybindir/y2base $module "$@" "$SELECTED_GUI" $Y2_GEOMETRY $Y2UI_ARGS

Thanks.

The segfault is bad. Does it happen only with this device or with other devices too?

And does the sound problem persist with other applications?
Comment 5 Forgotten User N1m2whZ-xl 2009-03-01 14:03:20 UTC
OK, sound is working with sox.

So the bug is only the non-functional YaST sound test and the segfaulting YaST volume.
Comment 6 Takashi Iwai 2009-03-02 06:45:30 UTC
Thanks for checking. So, the remaining thing to fix is the segfault.

Ladislav, could you take a look?
