Description Forgotten User N1m2whZ-xl 2009-02-28 01:58:15 UTC
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.0.10) Gecko/20060911 SUSE/1.5.0.10-0.2 Firefox/1.5.0.10

Sound is not working (just silent, no error messages).

I see this currently under 11.1 with at least 3 different chipsets - so how could you ever release such a crap?

The third bugzilla entry (Dell notebook) will follow as soon as I get the data from my customer, but this variety of non-functional chipsets lets me think it is a "more general" problem which you are aware of already.
But I wonder, a bugzilla search "11.1 sound" does not give any hit...

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.try.
2.try.
3. you should have it tested before.
Actual Results:
This new interface is animating helping people to no longer want to help.
Please think about it, or you can report you errors youself in the near future

Expected Results:
I would have expected to find "my" bug with a bugzilla search.
Nothing. Incredible.

Maybe you are the unluckiest man in the world in this week that hits three sound bugs at the same time.

Apart from kidding (and enough with the non-related texts in this bug report), please give a bit more detailed information, as mentioned in bug #480709.
Especially alsa-info.sh output will be helpful.

YaST2 -> Hardware -> Sound -> Other -> Volume -> Test
produces no test sound.
Comment 4 Takashi Iwai 2009-03-01 10:05:17 UTC
The yast2 test sound is a known problem. This was already fixed in my side, but the fix is still pending by QA team for a long time...

But, basically it's only about yast2 test sound, and the sound should work after that on other apps. Isn't it the case?
Comment 5 Forgotten User N1m2whZ-xl 2009-03-01 14:14:43 UTC
OK, amarok is able to make sound.

So the bug is only yast2 test sound.

OK, thanks for checking.
