Description Valerio Pilo 2009-04-06 09:18:22 UTC
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; it; rv:1.9.0.8) Gecko/2009032609 Firefox/3.0.8

Everytime I start HAL on factory (both using "rchal start" or "/usr/sbin/hald --daemon=yes") the program crashes only leaving the following trace in syslog (/var/log/messages):
kernel: hald[pid]: segfault at 0 ip 08058706 sp bf8e3070 error 4 in hald[8048000+59000]

As a consequence of this crash, the system is rendered unusable: no ACPI battery status, no USB, no wireless, no networking (manually of course works).

HAL version: 0.5.12-21.9
Kernel: 2.6.29-6-pae
zypper ost: openSUSE-12.2-i586

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start hald in any way.
