Booted with http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.2-Milestone1/iso/openSUSE-KDE4-LiveCD-Build0067-x86_64.iso

# uname -a
Linux linux 2.6.29-6-default #1 SMP 2009-03-24 15:38:18 +0100 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
linux:~ # df -m
Filesystem 1M-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/loop0 2602 2179 292 89% /
udev 942 1 942 1% /dev
linux:~ #

Question: Is there a option to increase the space free on / so I can install a selection of rpms ?.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot from live cd
2. open terminal session , do a df -m
3. Not much space free, laptop has 2GB ram installed
Actual Results:
292 blocks available.

Expected Results:
I wanted more than 292 blocks available so I could install a selection of rpms.
It would be useful to have more available on / so I can install a selection of rpms. Maybe a boot parameter to make available more ram available to do this e.g 50% or 1G in this case or a smaller percentage in systems that have less ram.

It's hardcoding 470MB currently, I thought about 60% actually, but didn't come around to do the math.

Marcus did now 70% of free memory. It would be great if you could test factory ISOs next week to see if this fits you.

this should be better now, let's say FIXED

They will be available at http://download.opensuse.org/factory/iso/ - but as I said, don't expect the change to be active before next week.
