Description Christian Hueller 2009-05-13 14:44:37 UTC
Desription:

Since 11.1 if I click on a pdf with firefox, I am asked to save it or to open it with an the application gimp. Gimp has the ability to read single pages of pdf files, and do choosing gimp offers me an overview of the pdf with the ability to convert single pages of it into pictures then opened in gimp. This is not an acceptable way to read a pdf document.

Howto repeat:

Install firefox and click on a pdf document. then try to read the pdf document

Howto repeat add on:

Try to read by directly openintg it and not saving it first.
Comment 2 Wolfgang Rosenauer 2009-05-13 15:23:07 UTC
That's because gimp is your preferred application/pdf handler in /usr/share/applications/defaults.list and Firefox returns the "default" handler only.
A direct dupe of bug 461362 and a general dupe of bug 456026.
