'zypper patch' seems to distinguish between 'security', 'recommended' and 'optional'.

I understand that 'recommended' packages are installed, by default but 'optional' packages like fetchmsttfonts are also installed during 'zypper patch'.

This is an unwanted behaviour as these packages should really be kept optional (may also be a licensing issue, at least with msttf).

1. zypper patch

Actual Results:  
optional packages are installed

Expected Results:  
optional packages won't be installed

Alright, i'll filter the optional ones. BTW, does also YaST Online Update act like this (optional patches not preselected), Jirko?

'zypper patch' will only _update_ fetchmsttfonts, not install it. That is, it must have been already installed in your case. Or wasn't it?

This problem (especially regarding fetchmsttfonts which can't be uninstalled properly) also occurs when you do any online update with YaST.
I think that really should be disabled.
