Ok, something is broken.. Exactly the same thing on another PC: Athlon 2800XP Nvidia 7600GT AGP I'll attach full logs if needed but at this point, should be easy to reproduce.. So, virtualbox -> ok real hardware (32bit) -> bang! Would it be possible to provide the required information according to our HOWTO http://en.opensuse.org/Bugs:X for reporting X11 related bugs? Please set the Status back to ASSIGNED after providing all the required information. Thanks. I'm wonder, on my very old notebook (ACER 210) with trident vga, works fine ! Well, it's unuseable but this is another story (buggy IDE chipset).. Ok, I'll attach all needed info tomorrow... BTW, no such issues with that LiveCD on Intel 945GM. The intel driver just starts fine in the native resolution with the generic xorg.conf (no longer created by sax2). So this issue sounds driver specific to me. Created attachment 300810 [details]
archive with all logs
Logs are from PC with Nvidia chipset and AMD cpu.

Apparently the autoconfiguration does not work with our nvidia "dummy" module, which I just remomved anyway. Please try the following. Either remove
a) /usr/lib/xorg/modules//drivers/nvidia_drv.so or
b) add 'Driver "nv"' to your xorg.conf
If it works now, the issue can be considered fixed with the latest xorg-x11-driver-video package in X11:XOrg (also submitted for factory).
Ok, now it works ! Thanks! Ok. Thanks. Closing as fixed. *** Bug 517142 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 521034 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** |
