Please attach the information requested by the webpage: http://en.opensuse.org/Bugs/SaX2 These modules have been removed by intention. > If something goes wrong, there is no way to fix it. This is simply wrong. You can change these settings on-the-fly by the appropriate desktop tools. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 483554 *** Created attachment 305329 [details]

SAX2 diags.
(1) Steve, what desktop tools do you mean. When my keyboard seemed to be acting as USA instead of UK I could find no desktop tools to correct it. (2) I presume the modules will be put back sometime soon? (3) Presumably "resolved" means that you know what the problem is and not that it's fixed? (4) [OT - just a gripe at Bugzilla] I wish there was an easier way to add attachments. One at a time is too slow when, like now, bugzilla is as slow as a tortoise in thick treacle. (1) KDE and Gnome provide control centers to change keyboard/mouse settings on-the-fly. For other desktops, which do no support such tools (yet), use setxkbmap/xinput. (2) Giving the user the impression, that it would still be required to change such settings via a static configuration, would be stupid IMO. It has been requested since a long time to provide dynamic X configuration. Now we are there, including video output (RANDR 1.2) and input (evdev/HAL). So we should use it. (3) This bug is closed as duplicate to give you some background for the decision. (4) off-topic (as you said) |
