I'm not sure if this is a KDE thing or a core power management problem.

I am using KDE 4.2.4 and kernel 2.6.27.21 on an IBM X60s Thinkpad. I have set the KDE power management to lock my screen after 5 mins of inactivity and to s2disk (if using battery) or s2ram (if on power) if I close the lid.

I have noticed that if the screen is locked and I close the lid the laptop does not s2disk nor s2ram. S2disk and s2ram work properly if the screen is not locked.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Lock screen (ctrl Alt L)
2. Close laptop lid
3. 
Actual Results:  
Nothing happens. Laptop does not s2ram or s2disk

Expected Results:  
Expected laptop to s2ram or s2disk

Reopening for 11.3

Upstream has confirmed they have a working patch in KDE 4.4.3;

I still see this bug in openSUSE 11.3 having KDE 4.4.4

The Upstream bug was closed as a duplicate of https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=209511

There the decission (at the moment) is to not apply the patch and that the current situation is the desired behaviour.

Moving to 11.4 so we can check, if we want to diverge from upstream.

Upstream changed its mind (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=277774), suspending which locked screen works now with KDE 4.7.2 which will be in openSUSE 12.1
