Description Greg Riedesel 2009-09-11 22:00:47 UTC
The default out-of-the-box Gnome theme (Sonar) makes the drop-down bar in Firefox very unreadable. The background is a dark charcoal gray and the links are classic HTML-underlined-blue. The combination is very unreadable (the blue text smears across the dark background for me forcing me to squint to read it). The white page titles are clearly readable, though.

Changing the theme to Clearlooks makes a world of difference.

It seems that the "menu bar" color is the color-scheme used for the drop-down list in Firefox.

Firefox with Sonar theme

Note the link/background contrast issues.

Seamonkey with the Sonar theme

No blue URLs here. Enough contrast for readability.

Opera with the sonar theme

Opera decided to use the 'text-entry-box' theme for its drop-down list, the most readable of the lot.
