On M7 i wasn't able to find usually used .desktop files available on the desktop (like firefox, mycomputer, oo.o and so on)

i searched a little bit, and i found that ~/Desktop folder was not the "desktop" folder used by KDE4.

The folder used is ~/Scrivania . Scrivania is the NO MORE USED Italian translation for "Desktop"
