strace log showing the freeze

Description Petr Mladek 2009-09-21 16:32:39 UTC
yast2 command freezes when I try to start it from terminal after "su". It works with "su -" and other situations. See below for more details.

Steps to reproduce:

1. install openSUSE-11.2-milestone7
2. create new test user
3. login into KDE4 (default)
4. start terminal or xterm
5. do "su"
6. run "yast2"

Result: it freezes

Expected result: it should start YaST2 GUI

Observation:

1. I am able to start YaST in the text mode in the terminal (command yast)
2. I am able to start GUI when I use "su -"
3. I am able to start GUI from KDE4 menu "Applications/System/Administrator
   Settings"

I hope that strace might be more useful here.
