Hi, From a fresh install of OpenSUSE 11.2, I have exactly the same problem. I upgraded to KDE 4.3.3 from KDE4 repositories, same problem too. First I took a snapshot from ksnapshot. When I save the file, The KDE File chooser doesn't see all my files. Sometimes they are all seen, sometimes only two or three, sometimes none of them. Dolphin works well : files appears as soon as they are created or moved. But krusader, Konqueror ou KDE File chooser no, I have to force a refresh to see them (F5). Is there a linking problem with inotify or something like this ? help ! Oh, last : same problem with KDE file chooser in OpenOffice.org and Firefox. And again and again :) I found this bug report from KDE : https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=207361 This is due to kernel 2.6.31. I compiled and tested, at home, a 2.6.30 vanilla kernel. It works. So the new implementation of inotify on 2.6.31 makes refresh buzzy in KDE 4.3.x. Marking as duplicate of the newer bug as this one has a link to a possible fix. I have tried with Ksnapshot and Krusader. (View attachment) BUT, to see the files, I have to close the application and rerun. In Dolphin this does not happen. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open Krusader and go to a directory 2.Open Ksnapshot and create a new file (screenshot) without closing the application "Krusader" 3.The file exists but the application (Krusader) does not show 4. It also happens vice-versa.
