Description Bart Whiteley 2009-10-15 17:43:00 UTC
After a fresh install of rc1 (from gnome liveCD), 'zypper dup' wants to reinstall 172 packages. All of them are noarch. These aren't upgrades, or downgrades, but reinstalls.

There are only 180 noarch packages install, so zypper wants to reinstall nearly all of them.

But I suppose reinstalled due to a newer buildtime. Maybe the wording is a bit missleading.

Coolo: Do the online repos actually contain rebuilt noarch packages?
Comment 2 Stephan Kulow 2009-10-16 11:33:03 UTC
yes, as discussed on zypp-devel: the livecd contains x86_64 only (including noarch) and online repo contains noarch built for i586. And it's random if they are newer or older.
Comment 3 Michael Andres 2009-10-16 11:45:46 UTC
So this is invalid for zypper. (and 'wontfix' for the buildservice, or at least 'maybe later').
