Seems to be hardware related. After some test, I replaced the SONY DDU1612 DVD-ROM with a SONY/Optiarc AD-7200A DVD-RW. It appears that on this drive the CD is automounted normally. Further testing with the DVD-ROM on Windows did not show any malfunction. Must be a strange combination of software-hardware-media glitch. Will revert with further testing with same media, as soon as I install 11.2 on more rigs... I also encountering similar problem. Seems HAL fails to detect DVD-writer after installation of 11.2 64 bit. See forum thread link below for more details. http://forums.opensuse.org/hardware/64-bit/427731-11-2-x64-unable-mount-any-data-cds.html While PC was on and lshal -m was running, I removed the SATA cable and reattached it. After reattachment lshal -m detected the DVD writer. Danny, this looks like a HAL issue to me. Do you have any idea what's wrong or how to debug that? Thanks I don't know what I can do here. Moreover, it looks like duplicate of bug 551753. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 551753 *** |
