Currently an update to a newer ghostscript would break a lot of packages out there (like TeX Live) as ghostscript 8.70 is under GPL3. (In reply to comment #1) > Currently an update to a newer ghostscript would break a lot of > packages out there (like TeX Live) as ghostscript 8.70 is under GPL3. An update to Ghostscript 8.70 would be nice but is not the only solution for this problem. A patched 8.64 version (with the bitcmyk-blank-output.patch from http://bugs.ghostscript.com/attachment.cgi?id=4801&action=view ) would also do the trick. Could an updated 8.64 version be provided in the 11.2 repositories? I think we cannot tell openSUSE 11.2 users that they have to patch the Ghostscript source and recompile manually when they want colour printing... :) fixed version submitted to factory for openSUSE 11.2 a SWAMPID is required My advice: update here. looks fine to me for the "just the small patch" variant. -> go ahead I would say The SWAMPID for this issue is 29180. Please submit the patch and patchinfo file using this ID. (https://swamp.suse.de/webswamp/wf/29180) please submit patchinfo done, please accept submit request 24985 update running *** Bug 555584 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** I know this question gets asked a lot but do you have an ETA on when the update will be in the repos? Update released for: ghostscript-devel, ghostscript-fonts-other, ghostscript-fonts-rus, ghostscript-fonts-std, ghostscript-ijs-devel, ghostscript-library, ghostscript-library-debuginfo, ghostscript-library-debugsource, ghostscript-mini, ghostscript-mini-debuginfo, ghostscript-mini-debugsource, ghostscript-omni, ghostscript-omni-debuginfo, ghostscript-x11, ghostscript-x11-debuginfo, libgimpprint, libgimpprint-debuginfo, libgimpprint-devel Products: openSUSE 11.2 (debug, i586, x86_64) Marcus? The osc request 25573 is not accepted .. that is that the fixed version for bugs #557948 and bugs #559122 are not included in openSuSE 11.2 The SWAMPID for this issue is 31924. Please submit the patch and patchinfo file using this ID. (https://swamp.suse.de/webswamp/wf/31924) submitreq 25573 has only this diff compared to the last released bugfix release: +Mon Nov 30 14:42:21 CET 2009 - werner@suse.de + +- Fix possible vulnerability in ghostscript 8.64 (bnc#559122) + So the fix for this specific bug was checked in already, just the one minor security bug was not taken for some reason. There is a type in the SWAMPID page ... the package is not ghotscript-library but ghostscript-library ^-- missing s Just fixed that |
