Please try to install kde4-printer-applet. I've installed kde4-printer-applet, but don't see much change when printing. There is a "Manage Printing" program in the start menu, which opens a web interface to cups where you can do everything needed, and that is fine for me. I am not sure if it was kde4-printer-applet that installed this. I do however think this is more for a print server than for a PC normal users are using. An icon appearing in the task bar when there is outstanding print jobs as implemented in kde3 would be an advantage for most users. Maybe the "bug" should be moved to "Enhancement" I still think that kde4-printer-applet is the thing you are serching for however I just recognized that is does not work at the moment. The printer applet does not start due to bug 551958 Therefor I close this one as a duplicate. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 551958 *** |
