Description Werner Franke 2009-11-26 14:24:51 UTC
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.0.12) Gecko/2009072200 Red Hat/3.0.12-1.el5_3 Firefox/3.0.12

I used a DVD with openSUSE 11.2 on my local DVD-Rom and want to update
my 11.1 version.
After I changed some 11.1 repositories (e.g Packman) to the new 11.2 URL YAST2
setup my network and reports no problems about that.
Thereafter YAST2 reports:

/repodata/repomd.xml konnte von <URL> nicht abgerufen werden.
(translated: /repodata/repomd.xml could not get from <URL>)

URL: http://ftp.uni-erlangen.de/pub/mirrors/packman/suse/11.2
(The URL is NOT wrong, I checked it)

Such messages I got for each additional repository.

ZYPP_ARIA2C=0 on bootprompt when booting from DVD solved that problem.

I could reproduce the problem on my desktop PC as well on my notebook.
(Now both PCs are updated)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. enter a DVD into DVD-Rom
2. update system
3. define at least one external repository
4. setup network of PC
5. problem appear

Could you please attach y2logs according to http://en.opensuse.org/Bugs/YaST.
Thanks.

YAST2 logs

I have the idee that the y2logs NOT contains logs from the update which I described in the bug report. I canceled the update after the error messages
was notified by YAST2. This was before Sat Nov 14 19:42:43 GMT 2009 because
on this date I asked the problem at http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-de/2009-11/msg00636.html and the logs starting at 2009-11-15. Sorry Werner

This is either libzypp or aria2c problem...
Comment 4 Michael Andres 2009-12-03 09:17:08 UTC
The logs show the same symptoms as in #558717: aria error reports from AbstractCommand.cc although the url appears to be valid.

Because of this bug you will have to use the methods laid out in :-
http://en.opensuse.org/Upgrade
and add the dvd as the 11.2 repository or just follow the instructions and use the online repos
