Description Frans Leerink 2009-12-11 14:22:22 UTC
Hello,

I have used Firefox in openSUSE 11.2 for a couple of weeks without any problem.

Yesterday it started to react strangely. Normally I use FIREFOX in one of the 2 use cases:
1 While reading my mail and newsletters via Kontact/Kmail the system wants to look up via the default Firefox browser URL's.
2 In Firefox I click on one of my "preset/saved" tab's to use a regular used URL or I select a bookmarked URL or I manually enter an URL.

In both cases I cannot use the URL's involved since I get the following error messages:
a Does not find URL on server (see attached screencapture)
b The page is not redirecting properly. (See attached screen capture)

Regards, Frans

Comment 3 Frans Leerink 2009-12-14 18:08:17 UTC
Hello,

Finally I found the problem. I don't know how it happened but at least I can correct the situation so that it works as before.

It turned out that in Edit/Preference/Advanced/Network/Connection/Setting
"Use system proxy settings" was selected while I have no proxy, so changing the setting to "No proxy" solved the problem.

Regards, Frans

PS Should I have changed the STATUS to Solved ????

So you are most likely using KDE.
This is basically a dupe of bug 557385 but probably we can get further debug information from your case.

Please attach(not copy& paste) your .kde4/share/config/kioslaverc
and paste the output of
rpm -qi mozilla-xulrunner191
rpm -q mozilla-xulrunner-kde4
