When Assigning a static ip address to opensuse 11.2, no network check is done or at least reported via the interface, this can conclude in duplicate ip addresses in use. The OS keeps taking the duplicate ip address causing both machines to have network problems.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Assign two pc's the same ip address
2.no report or indication of problems
3.Both machines have network issues.

Thats all it is, maybe this is just not programmed into the Open version as SLES10.2 identified the potential issue.

11.2 is out of support. As such it is hard to reproduce your problem on current software stack.
Please open a new issue if you still can reproduce it on current releases.
