I just installed the update to KDE 4.3.5 and some other updates (using kupdateapplet, my repos include 11.2-test-updates) and basically had three issues with the update. Part a) is most relevant in this bugreport, but I'll mention the others to give you the whole picture.

a) kupdateapplet hang at "Installation finished" with a 100% progress bar.

I had to quit (using Ctrl-q) and restart kupdateapplet multiple times to install all updates. I have no idea why it didn't install all packages at once, maybe the logs can give you some insight... (Is there a maximum length for the list of packages to upgrade somewhere?)

b) akregator from KDE 4.3.1 was uninstalled (bug 581089)

See bug 581089 for details. Just to make understanding the logs easier:
I used rpm -e kdepim3 && zypper in akregator and continued the update afterwards with kupdateapplet (see part a) - but the hanging update is IMHO not related to the akregator issue)

c) kupdateapplet spammed the screen with error messages (bug 580529)
(yes, known bug, but I want to give you the whole picture here.)

the kupdateapplet had some issues with packagekit timeouts for this huge update. we released a kupdateapplet before, but kupdateapplet did not restart itself, so if you installed both updates in one go, thats why.

the akregator issue is surprising indeed. :-( lets track it in the seperate bugreport.

as the update was already released, I'm not sure what is left to be done other than fixing kupdateapplet and the akregator issue (tracked in other bugreports).

thanks for your input!
