ntfs-3g suid bit is not set by default.
I had to run a chmod u+s ntfs-3g to allow users to mount NTFS drives they should be allowed to mount.
I think it could be a good idea if it was done by default.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

I have not tested on other platforms, but I believe it is the same for all versions of openSUSE 11.2.

Hmm. udev might be able to do so ...
Comment 2 Kay Sievers 2010-03-09 11:16:28 UTC
That seems completely unrelated to udev. Reassigning.

In recent releases the suid bit is not desirable and policy rules should tweak it. Also it works for user on TW.
