oS is 11.3 M5 i586 as x64 has been reported to be broken and not installable.

There is no bash prompt on VT-1. VT-2 etc work fine, but letters are different than in 11.2.

This is unrelated to Xfce. Werner could this be a problem in mingetty or bash?
Comment 2 Dr. Werner Fink 2010-04-23 12:14:37 UTC
No .. how this should happen ... mingetty and bash both are only using
the terminal line tty1 nothing more and nothing less.
Comment 3 Carlos Robinson 2010-04-23 18:09:22 UTC
Notice that VT2 to 6 work fine. #1 is special, and does not put login prompt.
Comment 4 Carlos Robinson 2010-05-14 08:31:27 UTC
I think it is working in M6.

Does it work in M6? If so, can this bug be closed?

Well, now I have installed the final 11.3, not M6; just booted the test system to verify this report. Yes, consoles are working. This bug can be closed.
